This is a live recording from an outdoor gathering called Prosperity that happens deep in the Washington desert with a close group of my super homies every year. I had brought out my KSP8 effects processor for real time dub effects with some midi-controllers.

Lightning in a bottle, an amazing yearly festival in southern California held a mixtape contest to win a dj slot on the line up – The limitation being that you could only use artists who were booked on the line up – seeing as their curation is impeccable I thought this could be a fun challenge.
It features three distinct sections – each one representing a different style / energy. In order to make many of these songs more dj friendly I made special edits of these songs focusing on the bits I wanted to highlight for this mix. I did the mixing in Ableton Live using several midi controllers to send audio from the computer to an external tempo-synced KSP-8 digital effects processor – you can hear a number of these lush organic dub style delays and reverbs through out the mix.

I was honored to be asked to play at the Portland Om Records 15 year anniversary party with house legends Dj Heather from my hometown Chicago, Olivier Desmet from Belgium and local hero Mercedes. I almost considered coining the term Jambient to describe this but luckily my better judgment jumped in and said "Hey thats hella cheese yo!" thereby saving you from another god awful term. So now I'm not sure what to call it. The styles are all over the map and I could sit here with a barrage of sub genre after sub genre but that wouldn't help anyone out would it? The overall focus was on chill live instrumentation with some / electronics which im hoping all my friends who like Jam bands might get into (hi liz,jazz,evan,dave,josh etc) well give it a whirl and let me know what you think.

Check it out! After all these years I finally corrected the missing ID3 tags for all my mixes and embedded the artwork in the files so that when you import it into i-tunes you can visually scroll through the mixes. Doesn't it look better? 
This was a good year for me at burningman. So many poawerful experiences and life changing art experiences. I was in an extremely emotional state and without a dncefloor to appeal to sort of meandered from a jazzy low cool sort of thing into a emotional psychedelic space, even playing my all time favorite emotional song – William Orbit – el ninjo. This is a long mix clocking in at 115 minutes, close to two hours.

Description: Back when I lived in Chicago I used to make trips with my friends up to Northwesterns Campus to do the Streetbeat Radio show every now and then, which was always a blast and sometimes totally over the top, So when my buddies over at Part Time Suckers Radio invited me to join them on their show I was totally down. I figured now was my chance to bring the west coast sound back home and drop some of the dripping psychedelic drenched dub bass funk on the unsuspecting collegiate masses of NWU.
I got a couple interesting phone calls but the highlight was the cab drive who was compelled to stop his cab get some change and call up the station because he'd never heard anything like it in his life and was pretty blown away.
