Description:
In 1996 we didnt have a name for this kind of music, Actually there wasn’t even a proverbial “we”. I was sort of off on my own in collecting this stuff in the pre-ebay, pre-Discogs.org, pre-Boomkat music scape. (This means digging through thousands upon thousands of records at stores) As far as I was concerned it was all one-offs. Whats amazing is that 12 years later after much education in the flow of downtempo , this mix still has a great progression to it and the tracks aren’t too terribly dated (though short since we promoted ourselves on cassette tapes back then which gave us 45 minutes a side)

This mix was encoded from an old cassette so please understand if it doesn’t sound as crisp as the other mixes. Ive done what I could to correct the hum, hiss crackle and DC offset, even mastered it .

Anyways the title is borrowed from my favorite of the Carlos Castaneda books, which have been a large influence on the development of my character. As a bonus gift I’ll link to a song I wrote based on one of the stories from “A Seperate Reality” It’s a storytelling piece and probably wont mean much if you dont pay attention to it. A must for any Carlos Castenada fans.
