Welcome to another installment of Designer Minds podcast – This installment is a live recording of Mr Projectile from his most recent trip through Portland on the semisexual tour. Mr Projectile is most well known for his downtempo releases on the infamous & now defunct Merck label however he has been working on an uptempo electroish live dance project. By live I mean completely live and even more noteworthy done without computer relying heavily on custom built Nord Modular G2 patches and super slick machinedrum patternings.
It was a welcome departure from the overly structured and formulaic dance music we've sadly become accustomed to – diving into the realms of live mixing, subtle minimal adjustments and deep tonal appreciation. I was simultaneously nostalgic for the '96 acid trance I grew up on as a wee raver lad and amazed at the intricate cascading drum rhythyms that weaved in and out.
Much thanks to Matt for permission to record this and share this with all my friends who I know who are fans and yet couldnt make it due to previous engagements. Im going to drop a hint… we may yet see Mr Projectile again at an out-of-doors moonlit occasion in the deep woods.

Thanks for this! I was out of town and was gutted to miss it.
hey.. is the rest of the set available some place? it cuts off after 30 or so minutes
Must have been an upload error – The full set is there now.
thanks! you're the man!
so, it's now 57 mins and 20 secs long. is that the correct length? it still cuts out abruptly. just checking. i know i'm a PITA.
Yes that is the correct length – Is it cutting out abruptly from the player or from the downloaded file?
the downloaded file. i guess it's just the way the recording ends. hey, 57 minutes is a good chunk and i think almost all of his set. thanks a ton for posting it. it's a killer set and i was totally surprised to hear him play that kind of stuff. i dug it a lot.
oh, duh.. it's fixed.. apparently i imported the same shortened version into itunes twice. i'm just good that way.
